Why We’re Called Stubby K Studio
The name Stubby K Studio comes from the heart of our family story.
“Stubby” has long been Max’s nickname. Though Max will tell you he is 5’ 9” and that he is an, “American male, average stature” our family is definitely not tall.
So here it is, Stubby, It’s the kind of name we earned the honest way.
Through years of hard work, service, grit, and showing up even when it wasn’t easy. It sticks because it fit. Practical. Unpolished. Dependable. The kind of name that belongs to someone who builds things that last.
The “K” stands for Kuhns. Our family name. Our legacy. The promise that whatever leaves this shop carries our reputation with it.
When we started the studio, we didn’t want a trendy name or something polished for the sake of branding. We wanted a name that told the truth. A name that sounded like real work, real hands, real people.
Stubby K Studio Custom Woodworking isn’t just a business name.
It’s a signature. It says,
“Our family built this. And we stand behind it.”
Over the years, the name has grown to mean more than one person. It now represents a whole family of makers and our loyal clients.
We are a Veteran-built family foundation, a creative partnership. We are a Legacy Business, a next generation learning the value of craft, character, and pride in your work.
Stubby K Studio is who we are.
Rough edges and all.
Built with heart.
Built to last.
